Dr. Radhika Acharya-Leon is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.
Dr. Acharya-Leon is a member of several organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, American Society of Hematologists and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She is an active researcher and has written two clinical trials. Dr. Acharya-Leon also leads the tumor board at Littleton Adventist Hospital and is co-chair of the hospital's breast program.
Dr. Acharya-Leon received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Chicago and then did her Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit
Dr. David Link is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He specializes in hematology and oncology and provides advanced and comprehensive cancer and hematologic care. Aside from outstanding quality care, extensive experience, and raving patient and physician reviews, Dr. Link he shares our philosophy that emotional care and support is just as imperative to a patient’s recovery as the medical services provided to patients. He makes it a point to address both the emotional and medical needs of every patient. Dr. Link has more than 25 years of medical experience, which allows him to provide the best possible cancer treatment plans with the utmost compassion
Dr. Karng Log was raised in Denver, graduating from George Washington High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder. He earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He continued his training in Internal Medicine through the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan, where he was Chief Resident and recognized as Resident of the Year. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Michigan State University/McLaren-Greater Lansing in Lansing, Michigan and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Log believes in practicing evidence-based medicine and utilizes guidelines set by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). However, Dr. Log realizes the art of medicine is tailoring therapy towards each individual. He strives to educate patients on their condition and available treatments, so together; the appropriate therapy can be utilized based on each patient’s goals and values.
Practicing Oncology and Hematology has influenced Dr. Log to appreciate each day and has inspired him to pursue many interests and passions. He is an avid traveler, having visited the Pyramids of Giza, Petra, Roman Coliseum, Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Ankor Wat and various other destinations. He also enjoys quality dining; preferably visiting establishments featured on Man vs. Food and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Dr. Log is a true sports fanatic and roots for his home teams, especially the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Broncos.
Dr. Minkoff is a board certified oncologist and she joins Mile High Oncology as a hospitalist. As a hospitalist she serves as an extension of the oncologists in the practice making sure that each patient gets personalized and specific care while an inpatient at Littleton Adventist Hospital. She reports back to the oncologists at Mile High Oncology to ensure continuity of care for each and every patient.
Lisa Gundersen joined the team at Mile High Oncology in 2013. She has been a practicing Physician Assistant in the Littleton community since 1996. Prior to joining MHO, she spent 10 years in primary care and eight years in non-operative spinal care and diagnostics.
Lisa received her master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and her physician assistant degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has a long history in high-level cycling as both a rider and a coach. Lisa has been a member of the United States Cycling Team coaching staff and in 1987, was the Junior National Girls Head Coach. She recently completed a month-long yoga teacher training program in New York and hopes to bring the gifts of yoga into the health care setting to benefit those with chronic pain and disease.
Lisa enjoys being active, especially in yoga, road and mountain biking, tennis and hiking. After outdoor activities, she cooks, reads and does needlework.
Our Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator Ellen Buchannan, RN, FNP is an invaluable resource to our breast cancer patients, providing guidance in identifying needs - physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial - as well as offering advice pertaining to the disease process, physician options and health insurance details.
Ellen's depth of compassion is due, in part, to her victorious fight against breast cancer. As a survivor, she has a deep understanding of the many struggles involved in this fight and can provide advocacy and advice on even the smallest details such as transportation options. She provides seamless care for each patient, helping make the process that much easier.
We would enjoy the opportunity to introduce each of our patients to Ellen, either in person or over the phone.
Ms. Morgan assesses patient and family needs to provide appropriate interventions to those facing cancer or hematologic issues. Based on best practices and a compassionate approach, she offers individual and family support and counseling, advanced directives education, cancer education,and information about support groups. She also assists her patients in securing home health, disability and Medicaid resources, wellness resources, and community resources such as transportation, food, housing, and financial assistance.
